Consciousness & Reason
The word consciousness is reviewed in my vocabulary innumerous times. The reason is quite simple: by repeating the word, I remember being effectively conscious and listening to that little voice inside of us that we distance ourselves from when we grow up. The basics of a healthy life nowadays is having awareness of your behaviors, feelings, and desires.
The farther apart we are from consciousness, the more we want what is immediate. But while unconsciousness only gives you immediate pleasure, consciousness sheds light on what is really necessary and drives you to your lasting desires.
It brings about wisdom, that thing you have to encourage every day. Everything in life, if it’s conscious, is well done and has a better result because of it.
And a conscious being is above reason, which sometimes betrays, and emotion, which makes us lose control.
Consciousness is to focus on the truth. Not someone else’s — your own. Focus on your own truth.
What do I truly need to do in this life?
When you answer that question, you start to draw the line that will guide your consciousness.
